Emailing documents from Dynamics NAV… It seems like a basic feature that should have been available since the beginning of time. I mean we are talking email here. That functionality has only been around since the 1970s! Well low and behold it is finally native in Dynamics NAV 2015!
Finally, we have the ability to email documents like Sales Order Confirmations and Invoices directly from NAV. In the past email functionality has been implemented through custom programming or NAV Add-On’s. Now this feature is available natively. Let’s take a look at some of the applications…
For example, on the Sales Order or Sales Invoice there are actions for email functionality:
Post and Email will post your document and will popup the following screen to email the appropriate document:
Email Confirmation will just popup the following screen to email the appropriate document:
If the Edit in Outlook box is selected, then Outlook will be opened with the appropriate attachment and email address from the Customer Card.
