Early in October ABS sent 6 representatives to the annual NAV partner conference called Directions. This year it was held at a beautiful marina in San Diego. During this conference the NAV partners typically receive important updates from Microsoft, we attend numerous sessions for continuing education purposes and we network with our peers. It is always a great conference and we look forward to attending every year.
This was the largest Directions conference yet with 867 registered attendees. As usual everyone couldn’t wait to hear the keynote delivered by Marco Perisic, the General Manager of Microsoft Dynamics 365. Marco listed the successes of NAV and Business Central with the updates that the solutions have been implemented by 220,000 companies in 196 countries and are currently being supported and represented by 4,500 partners, such as ABS. Very Successful and the momentum is increasing!
As Marco explained Dynamics NAV 2018 R2 is code identical to the SaaS based “Business Central” and the name will change from Dynamics NAV to Dynamics 365 Business Central On-Premises. So our customers can either select the SaaS Business Central or they may select Business Central On-Premises. Business Central On-Premises as it’s name indicates can be installed on our customer’s own servers in their facility but could also be hosted by a a third-party hosting provider or could be hosted on azure by ABS. So there are many options to make Business Central available for your use. If you have any questions about these options please don’t hesitate to call.
The mood at this conference was very upbeat with good news for our customers and for the partners regarding the longevity and capabilities of the product that we have all invested in. Please stay tuned as we will be providing you more timely and promising information shortly.
